Zambia is a landlocked country located in Southern Africa, gained independence from British rule in 1964 under the leadership of its first president, Kenneth Kaunda. Rich in natural resources, particularly cooper, Zambia has faced economic challenges but continues to develop. The country has a growing population with significant healthcare needs, including access to essential medical services. However, many rural areas lack adequate healthcare facilities, trained professionals, and medical supplies. Additionally poverty remains a major barrier, as many Zambians cannot afford medical care or even the transportation costs to reach hospitals and clinics, making access to healthcare a critical issue.
